You cannot simply replace the defective handset of your Duo version with the E560 HX (CH version) offered here, as this is a DECT handset designed for operation with routers or DECT base stations. The E560 HX is not an analogue handset, but a cordless DECT phone, while your Duo version is presumably an analogue landline phone. It is therefore not compatible. For a replacement, you should use an identical or compatible handset from the same Duo series.
The telephone does not require its own base station as it is a universal handset. It must be connected to a DECT-capable base station or directly to a router with an integrated DECT base, such as a Fritzbox. You can therefore register the new phone directly on the DECT side socket of your Fritzbox without needing an additional base station. The connection is made via DECT, similar to your previous Gigaset phones on the Gigaset Go Box 100.
The mains adapter is not included in the scope of delivery as the phone is operated with two AAA rechargeable batteries, which are inserted into the charging cradle. The charging cradle is operated with a separate mains adapter, which is normally included with the charging cradle. For the Gigaset E560 HX (CH version), a special mains adapter (e.g. Gigaset mains adapter C705) is used, which is available separately.
You can register and use the Gigaset E560 HX phones directly via DECT with your Fritzbox 7590. The Fritzbox supports DECT phones like the E560 HX, so you can easily use them as a replacement for your old C430 phones.
The E560 HX (CH version) works with Swisscom Internet-Box 2, as it is designed to be compatible with Swisscom DECT routers connected to a fixed (IP) connection. This fixed-line telephone uses DECT technology and is compatible with Swisscom Internet-Boxes, including Internet-Box 2, which supports fixed IP telephony via DECT.
Yes, the device is supplied with rechargeable batteries. The official documentation confirms that it is operated with 2 NiMH AAA rechargeable batteries, which should be included in the scope of delivery as they are necessary for operation. If you are unsure, we recommend that you take a look at the supplied packing list or the operating instructions.
The question here is whether a general forwarding of all calls without call acceptance or a forwarding during the call is meant.
In my opinion, the former has nothing to do with this handset, which needs a base station for such functions. Call forwarding is normally set on the base station or in the web interface of the telephone provider (Swisscom, Sunrise etc).
Forwarding during an ongoing call is only possible internally to another handset on the same base station.
The Gigaset E560 HX (CH version) comes with a charger as standard. You therefore do not need to buy a separate charger as an accessory, it is already included in the scope of delivery.
PS. I recommend the Gigaset S850HX. With the Bluetooth function, you can make calls via headset (or hearing aid). It also works without any problems for me.
It only comes with a connection cable for Germany (TAE plug instead of RJ11), without an adapter for Switzerland. No problem for me: I used the connection cable from the old phone.

Section: Commissioning. The charging cradle is a base station and is connected via a cable, but as far as I remember only one RJ11 cable was included.
Step-by-step solutions:
- 1. base station switched on?
Make sure that the DECT base station (e.g. router with DECT or Gigaset base) is switched on and functional.
- 2. register handset again
Press the registration button on the base station (usually DECT/WPS) for approx. 3-5 seconds.
On the handset: Menu → Settings → Handset → Register → Enter PIN (default: 0000) → Select base.
- 3. HX models require a DECT base
The E560 HX is a "universal handset" that does not have its own base station.
It must be registered to a DECT-capable base station or a router (e.g. Fritz!Box, Swisscom Internet Box).
- 4. check range
Make sure that the handset is within range of the base station (max. approx. 50 m in buildings).
- 5. reset as last option
If nothing helps: Reset handset to factory settings → Menu → Settings → Handset → Reset.
The main difference between the Gigaset E560HX (French version) and the Gigaset E560 HX (CH version) lies in several key aspects:
## Language and Regional Conventions
- The Gigaset E560HX (French version) is specifically designed for the French-speaking market, with all instructions and menu in French.
- The Gigaset E560 HX (CH-Version) is tailored for the Swiss market, with instructions and menu probably in German, French, or Italian, depending on Swiss conventions.
## Network Compatibility
- The Gigaset E560 HX (CH-Version) is designed to be compatible with Swiss Internet routers, including the FRITZ.Box and Telekom Speedport models, as well as other routers from various manufacturers.
- There are no specific indications that the Gigaset E560HX (French version) has any particular restrictions or compatibilities with French networks, but it is generally compatible with European DECT standards.
## Other Features
- Both models share most technical features, such as TFT colour display, large illuminated buttons, hands-free function, hearing aid compatibility, and SOS function.
In short, the main difference lies in language and regional conventions, as well as specific compatibility with local networks and routers.
The Gigaset E560 and the Gigaset E560HX are different models with different functions and compatibilities.
- Compatibility: The Gigaset E560HX is a phone that can be connected to any Internet router with a DECT base station, but it is not directly compatible with the Gigaset E560 base station. The base stations of these models are not interchangeable or expandable in such a way that you can connect the E560HX directly to the base station of the E560.
- Expansion: If you require additional handsets for the Gigaset E560, you should purchase additional handsets of the same model (e.g. Gigaset E560A or E560H) and register them to the existing base station. The E560HX cannot be used as an extension for the E560 base station.
Therefore, to operate two devices, you should either purchase additional handsets of the same model (E560) or choose another model that is specially designed for use with multiple handsets.
Hello Together
I need a telephone with a base station that can be used with the UPC Giga Connect Box.
According to UPC, it needs a cable connection (the router is not DECT-capable etc.). According to UPC, the Gigaset C430 works, this is for your reference. But it has to be a phone with big buttons (for my mother), like the Gigaset E560 here. Will this work? Or is there a base station included with the phone plug and cable (I assume probably RJ11?)?
And another question: Will it work with the E560HX (I don't think so)?
I have already looked through all the manuals. But there is also information about "base station" and ""charging cradle, if included" etc. in some of them. And that's why I need a quick answer at last. :)
Thank you and best regards
Yes, the Swiss plug is on. UPC Connect Box, like most routers today, simply outputs an analogue interface, so it is also compatible with normal analogue devices.
If you subscribe to a telephone connection with UPC, you should simply be able to plug the telephone directly into the router on the Tel port. however, I would recommend a Gigaset with a separate base, so that the telephone itself can be placed independently of the router. in this case, the charging cradle is also the base and must be placed at the router (or via UKV cabling).
