Yes, can only recommend it 👍 is super
On the pre-installed standard map you will have almost no hiking trails. You will have to get the "Garmin Topo Switzerland" for additional (expensive) money. Or you can download the OpenStreetMap (CH) for free and be just as well served;). I have been hiking with it for a long time and am very satisfied. You have to plan the route beforehand via Base Camp on your PC. You can find all the information on Youtube! But no one can give you complete certainty about whether you can still get lost. That also depends on other factors...;)
I have been using this watch for a month and have a narrow wrist. You get used to it quickly. Only the strap is almost too big for me.
Your question has been unanswered for a good two months now. Have you found a suitable answer in the meantime? Otherwise, I recommend that you ask the manufacturer directly.
Yes, the polymer model is also equipped with this feature. See Manuel page 16 (can be downloaded from Garmin).
The size information we can offer is already in the specifications, as is the operating time when the device is used with GPS. The maps Topo Active Europe: https://buy.garmin.com/de-CH/CH/p/586905 and Cycle Map Europe: https://buy.garmin.com/de-CH/CH/p/155338 are pre-installed. In addition, other maps, e.g. Topo Switzerland Pro can be downloaded to the watch from http://garmin.com. Navigation is comparable to the possibilities of an Oregon, but can be controlled differently due to the smaller display. The colour designation is black on both watches. On the titanium version, however, it may appear a little lighter because of the material.
What is the current price (1279.-) for a fantasy price? It's not the titanium version, is it? Is it?
Thank you for the message, it has now been adjusted.
The 5X Plus is not yet officially available (as of 17.6.18, 18:00), Garmin will probably present it on 18.6. The 5X Plus will then be the successor to the 5X, which will hopefully come down in price :)
Yes, either measurement continuously on the wrist (needs a lot of battery) or measurement when desired.
