What about the maps: Are the hiking trails in the Alps all mapped? Is it possible to save a route on the watch and then not get lost while walking? ;)

On the pre-installed standard map you will have almost no hiking trails. You will have to get the "Garmin Topo Switzerland" for additional (expensive) money. Or you can download the OpenStreetMap (CH) for free and be just as well served;). I have been hiking with it for a long time and am very satisfied. You have to plan the route beforehand via Base Camp on your PC. You can find all the information on Youtube! But no one can give you complete certainty about whether you can still get lost. That also depends on other factors...;)
