Helpful answer

The Fractal Design Define 7 Black Solid case comes with six universal 3.5"/2.5" drive brackets and two dedicated 2.5" drive brackets out of the box. However, if you need to accommodate eight HDDs, you will require additional storage solutions. The Define 7 has a dual-layout design that allows for significant storage expansion. You can convert the case to a Storage Layout, which enables the installation of up to 14 HDDs. To achieve this, you would need to use the multi-brackets provided, which can convert unused fan positions into HDD or SSD mounts. There is a dedicated place to mount additional storage solutions, such as a 4-bay enclosure, using these multi-brackets. The case's design is highly modular, allowing you to customize the storage configuration to fit your needs.

It works with one exception: since the Silent Loop normally belongs on the ceiling, there is no more room for a DVD drive. That's why I have the water cooling at the front, but this is not recommended, because every water cooling system loses liquid over time.

If I understand you correctly, you want to use a watercooler with radiators mounted on the top of the case. With this layout RAM height should actually not matter and issues with space would rather be dependant on where the RAM slots on the motherboard you plan to use are located. RAM slot locations on Motherboards are not always exactly the same but they normally only differ slightly. There are no exact measurements to this in specsheets or the likes.

Unfortunately not directly, you can only buy the glass panels from Fractal. You might have to write to the manufacturer, they might be able to do something. Source: https://www.fractal-design.com/de/products/accessories/case-panels/

Is the housing soundproofed?

By definition, yes. In reality, it depends on the requirements and the components installed. Sound insulation is included on the side panels and in the top cover. You can get a PC suitable for a living room if you do without "loud" hard drives, such as those used in the Seagate Expansion, and use CPU water cooling (in the front). For sound insulation, there are probably better cases, but as far as flexibility and build quality are concerned, the part is unbeatable. It has rarely been so much fun to integrate the components.

Yes, the 6 trays are included in the box. Otherwise, the part is also quite good. I am satisfied. The only thing I find a little strange is that you can open the panel at the front like a door. But it doesn't bother me if it just stands there ;-)

Hi, I really don't know. However, Fractal has the operating instructions on its homepage, including explorer drawings that leave no questions unanswered. Please look there, that's the best way to be sure that your questions are answered. The case itself is really perfect and makes building a PC a real pleasure.
