It is possible to connect a Blu-ray Disc drive to a SATA port using a connection adapter such as the Delock USB 3.0 you mentioned. This adapter allows you to connect an external optical drive to a USB 3.0 port and make it work as if it were connected directly to a SATA port on your computer. It is important to note that although the Delock USB 3.0 adapter allows you to connect your Blu-ray Disc drive to a SATA port, some disc drives may not be compatible with this adapter. It is therefore recommended that you check the compatibility of your disc drive with the adapter before using it. It is also possible that disk read and write speeds may be limited when using the Delock USB 3.0 adapter to connect your disk drive to a SATA port. This may be due to the limitations of the USB 3.0 connection and the performance of the disk drive itself. In summary, it is possible to connect a Blu-ray Disc drive to a SATA port using a connection adapter such as the Delock USB 3.0, but it is important to check compatibility and take into account any limitations in read and write speeds.

This is normally only sufficient for hard drives and not for a Bluray drive. USB2.0 delivers max. 500mA at 5V and USB3.0 max. 900mA at 5V. So the total is only 1.4A. I recommend to buy an external optical drive directly or the following product: ICY BOX IB-550StU3S , 5.25" Alu Enclosure, SATA, USB 3.0 (3.5", 5.25")
