Unfortunately, nothing works without power. Must always be plugged in.
Can the device be used without installing the app? So insert the SD card and pictures are displayed?
Yes, the app is not absolutely necessary. Unfortunately, the app does not show a gallery of the photos on the photo frame. This means that the gallery can only be managed on the photo frame or on the PC via SD card.

The frame also works without Wi-Fi, everything is stored locally. As soon as the frame is in a Wi-Fi network, it is synchronised. Without Wi-Fi, remote control is not possible. If your grandmother does not have Wi-Fi, then I would buy a cheaper frame with a memory card and manage the photos on the card (e.g. 2 cards, one in the device and the other constantly updated, then swap the cards during a visit and then update the old one and store the next photos until the next visit).

An app can be downloaded for the DigiFrame, which is used to load the photos onto the DigiFrame. One app is needed per frame and the images are automatically displayed after uploading.
Unfortunately, an error has crept in here. The photo frame is mains-operated. I have already forwarded this internally and hope that this will be checked and adjusted in the near future.
