I was actually looking for the DS1. Is the DS2 better than its predecessor or basically exactly the same?

The DS2 is actually identical to the DS1. The only difference is that the DS2 has a second effect. The second effect is just a bit weaker than the first effect. If the price difference is not so high, buy the DS2 instead.
