Hello, I personally use the "be quiet! Pure Rock 2" fan and I'm very happy with it.
It seems to me that it already has a thermal pad applied.
But otherwise I use the "Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut" paste which has never failed me.
PS: After that it depends on the type of case, you have to make sure that the ventirad fits well inside, they're quite massive.
Hello,
Unfortunately, we don't have this information.
We are sharing the question with the buyers of this product, perhaps someone who has recently acquired this product will be able to confirm.
supported CPUs for this motherboard https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-b550-f-gaming-model/helpdesk_cpu
Should it be necessary, this mainboard offers the possibility of a BIOS update without CPU.
You can assemble the PC ready for use. The BIOS update is possible in the switched-off state.

Correct. A bios update must be carried out. But everything is not so bad. To be more precise, it is quite easy. You should only load the bios onto an empty usb stick in advance and then flash it from there. I have the same board with a Ryzen 7 5800x.
Actually, both are exactly the same. The Asus one is just more expensive but from what I see the MSI one only has the option to install 1 M.2 SSD, unlike the Asus one you can install 2. One Gen 3 and one Gen 4 mounting options. If you have a Ryzen 5000 CPU, it's also easier to do a BIOS update to get the CPU to work at all. I hope I was able to answer your question.
Good evening
Wi-Fi is not available for this model. The alternative mainboard is this one:
ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING WI-FI (AM4, AMD B550, ATX)
Have a nice evening :)
The four and five digit numbers are measurements.
The 22 means 22mm wide (most common width for M.2 SSDs).
The numbers behind are the length of the plug-in module. For example, 80mm, 110mm, etc.
For the different lengths, the necessary space must be available, e.g. on the mainboard. On the other hand, the corresponding fixings must be available. The modules are usually fixed with a screw at the end of the module. For an 80mm long module, the screw must of course be in a different place than for a 110mm module. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/M.2#Formfaktoren_und_Keys

On page 14/1-2 you can see with no. 6 the two M.2 slots with the different mounting options.
The assembly went well, except for the Geforce RTX 1070 and everything new.
BIOS update to 1805 also worked.
The PC also started and reported no errors. But...
The monitor stays black most of the time, no signal. I tried a second monitor with a different cable, same thing.
This wouldn't be so bad if I could install Windows with all its components. But it's not: Windows reports that there is no network during the installation.
The LEDs light up on the RJ45, a laptop on the same cable has network.
I also plugged in a PCI-E network card, but it is not recognised during the installation.
This is my first AMD board and my worst PC assembly experience ever.
Does anyone have an idea how I can get a network?
