Hi. I had this device as a replacement device in the meantime. The trackpad had also caused such clicking noises. According to Asus, it was definitely a hardware defect. The device was sent in. I now own the bundle unit and the trackpad is fine. (However, the device also had to be sent in after less than two months due to various defects). Unfortunately, it seems to be a fault-prone device. So don't be put off. Your trackpad is indeed defective and should be repaired under warranty.

The pen does not need to be connected. It interacts capacitively with the touch screen, i.e. contactlessly via an electromagnetic field at the tip. Only one battery (AAAA) needs to be inserted or the battery already inserted in new devices needs to be activated. As a rule, the manufacturer places a small, insulating plate or foil on a battery pole for this purpose, which must be removed before the device is put into operation.

Correction: Only the eGPU special solution from Asus works with this notebook: https://rog.asus.com/us/external-graphic-docks/2021-rog-xg-mobile-model/ In contrast to conventional Thunderbolt eGPU solutions with a PC graphics card, Asus uses a mobile graphics card that is connected via PCIe x8 instead of PCIe x4.

Unfortunately, we currently do not have a source of supply for the requested model. Therefore, it is unfortunately not possible for us to add it to our range. You can find a model with similar features, but with a DE keyboard, at the following link: ASUS ROG Flow X13 (13.40 ", AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS, 16 GB, 1000 GB)

This variant has the said WUXGA display, the 4K variant is as far as I know only available with the external GPU in a bundle. It has a better refresh rate (120hz) compared to the 4K display (60hz). You can't switch between the displays, either this one or the 4K. I have no experience in drawing on such devices, but I think it should be suitable for that.
