According to the brand, you need to pay some fees if you don't want to see the ads. "Important: Your 1-Click payment method is charged for a one-time payment when you unsubscribe from ads and sponsored screensavers. - Go to Manage Your Content and Devices. - Select Devices, and then select your device. - Under Special Offers, click Remove offers. A pop-up window then displays the price to remove ads. Select - End Offers and Pay the Fee to proceed."

Special offers" are "advertisements" on the home screen that make the device cost a little less... In fact, you become the product... I bought this model and it is clearly "ad-free": Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (2021) eReader 16GB without special offers, 17.3 cm (6.8") screen,... (6.80", 16 Go, Noir)

If you don't want the advert, it's "sans offres spéciales" or "non special offer" (galaxus product No. 22639786). The one with advertising is not sold in black by Galaxus, but by a third-party shop, which is actually more expensive. On galaxus you can find it with advertising only in blue, and cheaper (product N° 24941111). To sum up, this is the one without the advert, in black, with 16GB: Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (2021) eReader 16GB without special offers, 17.3 cm (6.8") screen,... (6.80", 16GB, Black)

Due to different suppliers and delivery conditions, there may be price differences compared to other suppliers, especially in international comparison. We always try to set a price in line with the market, but this is not possible for all products.

I have the one without the offer, from the moment you touch the screen to start it up to the moment you can use it about 2-3 seconds elapse during which an advertisement for a book appears..... doesn't cause any problems, we're talking a couple of seconds.... Nothing more...

I don't know the Sony and so my answers can only partially help you. The screen is matte / matt so no problem with reflections. You can buy/download books directly from the Kindle (when connected to the internet) or via the app on your smartphone. I don't know what e-pubs are, what I can tell you is that you definitely download to Kindle what you find on Amazon... so I would research that...

Prices are based on supply and demand, suppliers and availability of goods. For all these reasons, they change regularly and are updated daily. And when the products are in your shopping cart or in one of your wish lists, the price is unfortunately not updated. However, you can contact our customer service to find a solution :) https://helpcenter.galaxus.ch/hc/fr/requests/new
