This practical passive buzzer can be easily connected to an Arduino PWM output to generate a signal. The buzzer is controlled via a transistor, so there are no concerns about the current capacity of the microcontroller. The module can also be controlled with an ESP8266. The buzzer requires a PWM signal to control the frequency.
