Product details

Do you need more I/O pins? Then this PCF8574 port expander is the perfect solution. The PCF8574 can be easily used with a Raspberry Pi or Arduino. With this practical breakout board, you can quickly set up a circuit using Dupont jumper wires. The PCF8574 is controlled via the I2C bus, which keeps the wiring effort low. The breakout board for the PCF8574 is designed so that multiple units can be connected in series. In order for the microcontroller to control each PCF8574 individually, they must be addressed. A maximum of eight different addresses can be assigned, allowing you to expand your I/O by up to 64. However, it should be noted that the inputs and outputs are not super fast, but they are perfectly adequate for buttons and LEDs.
