Product details

The Motor Control Shield with the L293D chip is the ideal choice if you want to control a small robot or implement projects with motors. It is compatible with various Arduino models such as UNO, Mega, Diecimila, and Duemilanove. The special feature of this shield is its versatility. You can control up to 4 DC motors or 2 stepper motors, and you even have the option to drive two servos simultaneously. You can also use a combination of these different motor types, providing you with maximum flexibility for your projects. For programming, the Arduino library "AFmotor" is available, which you can find in the Arduino Library Manager under the keyword "AFmotor," making programming significantly easier.

An important note about power supply: The Arduino alone often does not provide enough power for the motors. Therefore, we recommend connecting an external 9V power source to the EXT_PWR terminals. Don't forget to remove the PWR jumper when using an external power source.
