The ESP32 ESP-WROOM-32 is the successor to the ESP8266. This microcontroller offers not only WiFi but also Bluetooth and Bluetooth LE, along with more IO pins and improved analog inputs. The ESP32 can be programmed using Arduino, but it must be integrated first. I recommend the ESP32 only for advanced users, as it is not yet supported by all Arduino libraries. The ESP-WROOM-32 chip does not have a programming adapter built-in, making it suitable for energy-optimized applications in Deep Sleep mode.
