PLA melts at a relatively low temperature of about 175 degrees Celsius. Unlike thermosetting materials, PLA can be heated multiple times above its melting point with very little degradation. It is a hard material, which means it is somewhat brittle. Once broken, it tends to shatter. This material is proven for a layer height of 50 micrometers.
