Rise of the Planet of the Apes (USA 2011, 105 min., Rated PG-13):
Will Rodman (James Franco) is a young, dedicated scientist who, along with his father (John Lithgow), also a researcher, is searching for cures for humans. He tests a promising drug, in which he has placed many hopes, on apes in a state-of-the-art laboratory. A special ape named Caesar (Andy Serkis) grows close to him during this process. The drug seems to be working. However, it suddenly triggers other, unexpected reactions. Primate researcher Caroline (Freida Pinto) supports Will in his quest to uncover the causes and consequences.
