The n is the pure OPN-4000i in all its glory, while the i is the OPN-4000i with a special addition; it is Apple MFi certified. This means it can connect with Apple products like the iPhone, iPod, and iPad. If a Bluetooth connection cannot be established, the OPN-4000i stores the data on the device until a connection is reestablished or when it is plugged in with a USB cable. Operating the scanner is incredibly simple. No special training is required, as users only need to press a trigger button to operate it and a reset button for error control.
