The first camera from the young brand that also has "OM System" on it instead of Olympus is the OM-5. Externally, this is the biggest change compared to its predecessor, the E-M5 Mark III, but the real progress is on the inside with better sealing, a more efficient image stabiliser and a processor that speeds up many functions or even makes them possible in the first place...

The M in MFT could also stand for mobility: The lightness and compactness of the OM-5 are convincing arguments. Of course, there are compromises to be accepted in terms of image quality at higher ISO values, especially in comparison with 35mm systems. However, 20 megapixels are completely sufficient for travelling and much more...

According to our evaluation scheme, the Lumix G9ll wins the comparison test. In terms of image quality, it benefits from the higher sensor resolution. However, many photographers are likely to feel more attracted to the functions of the Olympus or OM System. The new OM-1 Mark II, for example, has Live ND and Live GND functions that no other camera manufacturer offers...

In the end, the more versatile camera wins: the Fujifilm X-S20 impresses in photography and filming with high quality, high speed and sophisticated subject recognition by the autofocus. The OM System OM-5 is somewhat weaker when filming, but is at its best when taking photos. Its strengths are a particularly good image stabiliser and a small but very robust body - just right for taking photos in bad weather.
