Looks like a button, but it's actually a joystick!
This joystick has 5 switches built in: 4 switches report movements in all four directions (including diagonals), and the 5th is activated by pressing the joystick.
It is excellent for menu controls, but also for games.
The pitch is not exactly 2.5 mm, but the joystick can easily be used in breadboards by slightly bending the pins.
