In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, various game worlds collide. In the first handheld title of the series, up to four players take on the roles of popular Nintendo characters and compete against each other online.   • The new Smash Run mode was created exclusively for the 3DS version. Up to four players have five minutes to tackle a large battle area solo.   • Familiar faces from the Super Smash Bros. series such as Mario, Samus, Pikachu, and Link are joined by new challengers like Palutena, the Goddess of Light from the Kid Icarus series, Mega Man, and Little Mac. Additionally, for the first time, players can also compete using their own Mii.
  • When playing directly or online with friends, Nintendo 3DS fans can customize their characters.
  • Almost all scenes of this action-packed game can be enjoyed in smooth 60 frames per second and in 3D.
  • Players can compete against friends and family locally or online, or challenge randomly selected opponents from around the world in the online modes For Fun and For Glory.

    I am delighted at how few compromises fight fans have to accept in the first handheld Smash Bros. game. Technically, the title is cleanly implemented, the controls are easy to master with a little practice and the many unlockable goodies keep you motivated for a long time.     Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS has become an extremely entertaining continuation of the iconic series. The portable version holds tremendous addictive potential and I haven't been able to move too far from my 3DS for days without the thought crossing my mind to try and unlock that one stage after all, or maybe try out the Smash Adventure mode again with a different character...

    What a monster! In terms of scope, Super Smash Bros. almost beats the entire competition. A whopping 51 Nintendo and video game stars are waiting for you to explore and perfect their crazy attacks in numerous modes. A really exciting single-player part is missing and I would have liked more options in the online game against strangers...
