CAT6 cables provide a convenient and reliable connection from a network device, such as a switch, modem, or router, to another device or to the overall infrastructure via a patch panel, keystone jack, or wall outlet. These cables are also commonly used in small office and home networks, as well as in entertainment applications. They are tested up to 250 MHz (CAT6 standard) and are backward compatible with CAT5e and CAT5 cables. They are manufactured with a locking protection mechanism that prevents the connector from being damaged when the cable is installed in tight spaces.
