CAT5e cables provide a convenient and reliable connection from a network device, such as a switch, modem, or router, to another device or to the entire infrastructure via a patch panel, keystone jack, or wall outlet. These cables are also commonly used in small offices as well as in home networks and entertainment applications. They are tested up to 100 MHz (CAT5e standard) and are backward compatible with CAT5 cables. They are manufactured with a locking protection feature that prevents the plug from being damaged when the cable is installed in tight spaces.
