The current collector is made of aluminum (P-Al MgSi UNI 3569) and manufactured according to DIN 15560-46. The attachments at both ends of the current collector measure 16 mm, with a pin at the bottom and a socket at the top. The load is supported by a steel cable with a diameter of 2 mm (safety factor 12). Loads up to 12 kg can be suspended only with the patented friction device, while loads up to a maximum weight of 18 kg require the use of optional springs. The current collector can be adjusted to perfectly balance suspended loads from 1 to 18 kg. By turning the colored ceramic ring, you can adjust the friction of the current collector; this ensures that the load remains stable in its position but can move gently up and down when needed. In any case, it is always advisable to use the springs to facilitate lifting the current collector. When selecting additional spring(s) for your current collector, you must first know exactly which current collector model you have in order to choose the spring of the correct length. If you have one of the new compact current collectors (with a gray "scissors"), check the color of the ceramic ring. The 2 m version has a red ceramic ring, while the 3.8 m version has a blue ceramic ring. After determining the length of the current collector, select the appropriate spring(s) using the following table.
