The LC connector is a high-performance fiber optic connector suitable for both singlemode and multimode applications, characterized by low insertion loss. It is one of the most common types of fiber optic connectors. The design of the LC connector is based on a single-fiber ceramic ferrule with a diameter of 1.25 mm for a fiber optic. Due to its compact design, the LC connector allows for a high packing density, making it frequently used for fiber optic switches. APC - Angled Physical Contact. Connectors with the APC designation have an end face that is not only convex but also tilted by a few degrees relative to the fiber axis. This design helps to break reflected light from the core through the cladding into the air, thereby preventing interference with data transmission.
