Korg microKORG

The microKORG features the same DSP synthesis as KORG's MS2000B (2 oscillators) but offers many more waveforms. For Oscillator 1, there are 71 different waveforms available, including classic analog shapes like sawtooth, pulse wave, sine, and noise, as well as new options like Vox Wave and Cross Wave. This ensures a great variety, and these waveforms can also be intensely modulated. Additionally, there are 64 exclusive DWGS waveforms from the KORG classic DW-8000, allowing the microKORG to function as an "imitator." This enables the creation of sounds like bells, electric pianos, guitars, and basses that are difficult to simulate with "analog" waveforms alone. By using Oscillator 2, you can also apply sync and ring modulation to achieve entirely new timbres. Four filter modes are available: –12dB (2 Pole) LPF, HPF, BPF, and an extra steep –24dB LPF with 4 poles. All filter modes are resonance-capable. With two ADSR envelopes and two LFOs (which can also be synchronized via MIDI), you can refine the sounds to perfection. Additionally, there is a virtual patch matrix that allows for even more sophisticated modulations, such as assigning the modulation wheel to the filter's cutoff frequency or pulse width, controlling the stereo position or level with an LFO, and more. No other synthesizer in this price range offers such power.
