Kimya Filament

The ABS Kevlar filament from the French manufacturer Kimya is a 3D printing material that exhibits excellent mechanical properties. It is a modified ABS (Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene Copolymer) with Kevlar fibers for increased impact resistance and aramid fibers for improved printing characteristics. ABS is a plastic polymer resulting from the polymerization of styrene and acrylonitrile in the presence of polybutadiene. The use of aramid fibers in ABS Kevlar significantly reduces warping. Additionally, 3D-printed parts are lighter and more impact-resistant than conventional ABS or even carbon fiber-reinforced ABS. It is important to note that Kevlar is considerably more susceptible to UV rays than, for example, carbon fibers.
