Hoya UV-IR 82 mm

Hoya has introduced the new Hoya UV & IR Cut Filter in sizes ranging from 49 mm to 82 mm. This specialized filter effectively cuts out both UV rays below 390 nm and IR rays above 700 nm, allowing only the light rays in the visible spectrum to reach the camera. This is crucial since CCD and CMOS sensors are very sensitive to UV and IR rays that lie just outside the visible spectrum, which can negatively affect image quality.

The Hoya UV & IR Cut Filter blocks both UV and IR rays, resulting in clearer and sharper images outdoors. This filter can reduce the effects of atmospheric haze even more effectively than a standard UV filter.

The light transmission curve of the Hoya UV & IR Filter illustrates the sharp sections of the filter glass and coatings, as well as the uniform light transmission in the visible spectrum. This curve shows a more consistent light transmission compared to the nearest competitor, enabling sharper images with greater depth and richer color gradients with the Hoya UV & IR Cut Filter.
