Hoya Fusion Antistatic Protector Filter

A protector filter is a popular addition to camera equipment as it protects the front element of the lens from scratches, dirt, water, and other foreign objects. Additionally, it can make cleaning the lens easier, as you can simply remove the filter and clean it instead of the lens.

HOYA engineers have developed a new anti-static coating that acts like a force field around the filter to repel dust. These filters are perfect for environments where dust is common, as they require less frequent cleaning and maintenance than traditional filters. Furthermore, the hardened, anti-static top layer is water-repellent, stain-resistant, and scratch-proof, making it easy to clean when stains or fingerprints get on the surface.

The new professional anti-static filters from FUSION Antistatic are made in Japan from carefully selected silicates that are meticulously melted and mixed to produce high-performance optical glass. HOYA then applies the utmost care and precision to coat it with the enhanced 18-layer Super Multi-Coating formula, which significantly reduces or eliminates reflections on the glass surface and results in a clear high transmission rate. This means that the filter has virtually no impact on the color balance, contrast, or clarity of the final image.

The filters feature a lightweight, one-piece, low-profile aluminum frame to hold the glass. This one-piece design allows the filter to maintain a perfect parallel alignment to the sensor plane for maximum sharpness, while the flat shape eliminates vignetting when used with ultra-wide-angle lenses.
