Fulltone OCD Germanium

The Fulltone OCD Germanium is a variant of the well-known, world-famous white version of the Fulltone OCD. This versatile drive is a very transparent and open overdrive/distortion that responds fantastically to the dynamics of your playing. A gentle touch results in a mild drive, while a strong attack delivers a delicious dose of overdrive, just as you would expect from a good tube amplifier. This OCD Germanium pedal is the only pedal that uses 2 x MOSFETs configured as a stable voltage reference instead of the usual grounding. The earliest OCDs used 2 x MOSFETs plus 1 x germanium diode, but soon these diodes became harder to find and expensive. Fulltone opted for the ultimate OCD: a custom version with 2 x MOSFETs plus 2 x germanium diodes and a beautiful metallic teal color with a chrome base. This beauty shifts between blue and green, depending on the light and viewing angle. And what would the ultimate OCD be without a blue LED? The sound? Great definition, more tube feel, a slightly wider dynamic range, more sustain, and a more focused tone with a note. And like all Fulltone pedals: 100% made in the USA. Effect: Overdrive/Distortion.
