When you attach the Frio Hold Universal Shoe Mount to a flash unit or light panel, you can connect it to any tripod with a 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 thread. By using a polymer composite material for weight reduction, it has the added benefit of preventing unwanted flash triggers caused by metal-on-metal short circuits. Compared to stainless steel or aluminum adapters, it is resistant to expansion and contraction under extreme temperatures and conditions.
