The Sonorous IV combines a dynamic driver unit with a diameter of 50 mm with the BAM mechanism developed by Final Audio. This results in headphones with a wide and clear soundstage as well as balanced bass. The spatial quality of the headphones is consistently surprisingly large, as if the stage is barely 10 meters in front of you.
The built-in BAM mechanism equalizes the air pressure on the front and back of the membranes, achieving a three-dimensional sound with great depth, even in quiet tones.
The Balanced Armature driver was developed by Final Audio itself to ensure optimal performance in the high-frequency range. To achieve the best sound quality, Final Audio used Mu-metal (Permalloy) as the material, which has high magnetic permeability in the magnetic circuit.
A driver unit with a diameter of 50 mm was newly designed for the Sonorous IV. Through extreme precision of the parts, it was possible to make the gap between the magnetic circuit, the pole piece, and the yoke narrower than in conventional headphones.
The voice coil is made from copper-clad aluminum wire. The clear, punchy bass was achieved through a combination of the magnetic circuit, high driving force, and a lightweight vibration system.
Comfort plays an important role in sound quality. If there is space between the ear and the headphone cushion, it means that bass tones are lost. If the ear cushions press too hard against the ear, it becomes uncomfortable.
In collaboration with engineers, Final Audio developed the ear cushions of the Sonorous IV, taking into account all important aspects to ensure maximum comfort.
