The patented design of the HandShoeMouse is based on years of development work and support from the Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The design, grounded in anatomy and field research, resulted in a support structure for the palm that prevents excessive muscle tension in the hand, fingers, and thumb. The HandShoeMouse provides users with a tool to operate a computer without the risk of overexertion. Its highly supportive shape prevents strain on joints, tendons, nerves, and muscles. Instead of reaching for the mouse in a cramped position, the full surface support of the hand, fingers, and thumb ensures that pressure is distributed broadly across the hand at a natural and comfortable angle of 25 degrees.

With the HandShoeMouse, movement comes from the forearm and wrist. This helps reduce the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome and repetitive strain injury (RSI).
