The goal of developing UltraChrome pigment ink was to combine the long-term and short-term color stability of pigment inks with the color gamut of dye inks. This new ink system includes Light Black as a seventh color, allowing for smoother gradations in black and white printing, as well as two types of black ink, Matte and Photo, ensuring optimal quality can be achieved across all media types.
