The EGS12Z-UC pulse group switch is an actuator for the central control of a motor or for motor relays. The standby loss is only 0.05 to 0.4 watts. This pulse group switch executes the commands from sensor relays or from switches and push buttons, and depending on the setting of the rotary switches on the front, it switches a motor, motor isolation relay MTR12-UC, or DC motor relay.

The control voltage at terminals A3 to A8 must have the same potential as the supply voltage. The operating principle of this pulse group switch allows for impulse control of up, hold, down, hold (Contact 1 closed - both contacts open - Contact 2 closed - both contacts open). Additional control inputs can specifically select up or down. Dynamic control inputs require a pulse of at least 20 ms to close a contact. Static control inputs keep the contact closed only as long as the control command is present. The terms up and down apply to roller shutters, blinds, and shades.
