Fiber optic patch cables are defined components of an internationally standardized structured cabling system according to ISO/IEC 11801. In structured cabling, many different connectors have historically evolved, among which the following are still relevant: LC, SC, E2000, MPO/MTP. A fiber optic patch cable represents the shortest connection between a passive cabling port and an active network port or a point-to-point connection between two active network ports. Quality classes allow for a qualitative distinction of fiber optic patch cables depending on the network service. Equivalent terms for patch cables include patch cords, adapter cables, connection cables, hybrid cables, jumpers, and connecting cords.

Features of EFB fiber optic patch cables:

  • Strain relief reinforced with aramid yarn
  • Halogen-free and flame-retardant sheath according to IEC-60754-2, IEC-60332-1, and IEC-61034
  • EFB fiber optic connectors meet the minimum quality class Grade B/2 according to IEC-61753-1 for singlemode and Grade A/1 for multimode.
