Tripp Lite introduces new OM3 laser-optimized multimode fiber optic cables (LOMMF) "Aqua" for 10 Gb Ethernet applications. This new technology for 50/125 µm LC/LC fiber optic cables offers nearly four times the bandwidth of traditional 62.5 µm multimode fiber optic cables at significantly lower costs, with performance comparable to that of a singlemode cable. The LOMMF cable enables serial 10 Gb transmission over long distances in the 850 nm wavelength range, where cost-effective VCSEL (Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser) provides a budget-friendly solution with high bandwidth. LOMMF is ideal for LAN, SAN, and parallel high-speed connections for headends, central offices, and data centers.
