Product details
With this waterproof analog soil moisture sensor from DFRobot, you can measure the moisture of plants and determine when they need to be watered. The sensor features a built-in amplifier and can be directly connected to an analog input of an Arduino. The measuring probe is inserted into the soil and measures the soil's capacitance, which changes with moisture levels. This capacitive soil moisture sensor has no wear or corrosion like a traditional soil moisture sensor, making it more durable.
Note: Since the sensor's cut edges are not sealed, moisture may enter the circuit board through the cut edge. To extend its lifespan, you should seal the cut edges with clear varnish or epoxy resin.
