Product details
The Gravity Lightning Sensor from DFRobot utilizes the innovative AS3935 Franklin Lightning Sensor IC and the Coilcraft MA5532-AE antenna to detect lightning distance, intensity, and frequency within a radius of 40 km, both indoors and outdoors. In addition to its simple and efficient measurement of local thunderstorm data due to its compact size and extensive 40 km detection range, the sensor can also be integrated into various portable devices for outdoor climbers or workers at heights. This allows for early warning of thunderstorms, enabling individuals to take precautions in advance. The sensor can also be embedded in lightning-sensitive devices, automatically triggering them to switch to emergency power and isolate the power grid in the event of a lightning strike.
You can also use the sensor to photograph lightning. At the moment of the lightning strike, the interrupt pin IRQ generates a pulse, allowing you to trigger your DSLR camera via an additional remote circuit.
