The DFRobot Fermion SEN0663 is a fine dust air quality sensor based on the Bosch BMV080 – the world's smallest fine dust sensor element on the market, with a volume over 450 times smaller than comparable conventional sensors. Instead of a fan, the BMV080 uses laser-based light scattering with fanless optical pulse counting; particles from 0.5 µm are detected. This eliminates fan noise, dust accumulation, and wear, with a lifespan of up to ten years.
Note: The yellow ventilation membrane must not come into contact with organic solvents and must not be scratched. The pin headers must be soldered on the back (pins facing down) to avoid blocking the laser lens field. The module currently primarily supports the ESP32 platform.
