The DFRobot SEN0557 is a state-of-the-art 24 GHz mmWave radar module based on the LD2410 chip, utilizing FMCW (Frequency-Modulated Continuous Wave) technology. This module is capable of detecting both moving and stationary individuals by capturing even the slightest movements, such as breathing. Unlike traditional PIR sensors that only respond to motion, the LD2410 offers enhanced functionality by also recognizing motionless persons. With a detection range of up to 6 meters and a resolution of 0.75 meters, this module is ideal for various applications. The configuration of the detection zone, as well as sensitivity and decay delay, can be adjusted via UART. Additionally, the material penetration capability of the FMCW radar allows for reliable detection through housing materials, simplifying installation. The module is insensitive to environmental conditions such as temperature and light, ensuring stable performance. It provides both UART and GPIO outputs, allowing for a direct connection to devices without a microcontroller.
