With this converter, you can connect your IDE hard drives or drives to a SATA interface on the motherboard. The high-quality converter features a bidirectional function that can be set using a slide switch. This allows newer SATA drives and hard disks to be used with an older motherboard that has IDE ports.
The connections on the motherboard and the drive must be different. It is recommended to set the connected drive to master using a jumper. The board has a switch and a jumper for configuration, which can be set to either SATA to IDE or IDE to SATA. The first value refers to the motherboard controller and the second to the drive connection. SATA to IDE means SATA board, IDE hard drive. IDE to SATA means IDE board, SATA hard drive.
