Compressor Effect Pedal
Carl Martin Honey-Compressor
Introducing the Honey-Comp. This pedal is identical in every way to its predecessor, the Comp-Limiter: same gray anodized surface, same footprint, and the same user-friendliness with a compression knob and a level knob. It is pretty much the perfect compressor, so what could Carl possibly upgrade? Simple! Carl has added a Dry-Volume control that allows for parallel processing with three knobs. Parallel Processing is a studio technique that takes a heavily compressed signal and allows you to blend in a clean (Dry) signal, restoring the dynamics that give your guitar three-dimensionality and help it cut through the mix. This is a well-known technique, but usually too complex for a pedalboard! The three knobs let you quickly and efficiently balance the compressed signal with the dry signal for a very professional sound.
The anodized ultra-compact unit, with connections on the top side, takes up minimal space on any effects board. The uniquely designed DC/DC circuit by Carl Martin powers the pedal internally with +/-12 volts, which is necessary to ensure the high sound quality that studio equipment offers, although it can also be powered with a standard external 9V DC 200mA supply.
