Fiber optics for proximity switches. The fibers are made of glass to enable better light transmission and larger detection areas than with plastic fibers. Four different sets of fibers are available for various applications: one for through-beam detection and three for diffuse detection. For greater ranges, the sets with 2, 3, 0 fibers should be used. Three versions are available: with PVC coating, with metal coating, and a high-temperature version (up to +250 °C) with a metal sheath. All three versions have straight ends. The two versions for through-beam detection have 4.0 mm with straight heads. The wider beam of the larger cross-sections is not suitable for detecting very small objects but allows for greater detection ranges. Typical applications include packaging and processing machines, as well as any cases where small objects need to be detected. Detailed information sheets are included.
