Audeze LCD-2

The LCD-2 is the rocker of the LCD line. It was designed for people who prefer to listen to music with their gut rather than their head. It is forgiving of technically weaker recordings. Nevertheless, the LCD-2 delivers audiophile sound quality at the highest technological level with drastically reduced distortion, fine resolution, and a lot of spaciousness. The sound of the LCD-2 comes very close to that of a live concert. Constructed as an open magnetostatic headphone, the LCD-2 features a self-supporting stator housing made of neodymium magnets and an extremely thin diaphragm, 80% of which is made from conductor material. This is driven using a push-pull principle, resulting in a completely symmetrical driving force. The exceptionally large diaphragm area ensures that sound covers large parts of the outer ear, providing a very natural spatial impression. The Audeze LCD-2 headphone is modest in power consumption (101 dB/1 mW) while being extremely level-stable at 130 dB. Audeze's Fazor technology improves the control of the music flow within the headphones. The result is an improved phase response, an extended frequency range both upward and downward, a smooth frequency response, and remarkably three-dimensional spatial reproduction. Great emphasis was placed on wearing comfort during development. Although the headphones are relatively heavy, they provide a very good and comfortable fit. Thanks to the high-quality ear cushions made of lambskin with a large contact area, the LCD-2 remains comfortable even during extended wear. The specially designed rosewood housings not only give the headphones their characteristic appearance but also provide a particularly resonance-free environment for the drivers. The steel and leather headband is lightweight and durable and can be adjusted according to head size.
