Akai Mpx8

The MPX8 is a compact standalone sample player for SD or SDHC cards. Once assigned, samples can be played dynamically with velocity and pressure sensitivity through the eight backlit pads. Whether in the studio, live, or as part of a DJ setup, the MPX8 combines Akai Pro technology in a robust housing. It offers both USB MIDI and a standard MIDI In/Out port, allowing the MPX8 to control software or MIDI hardware. In the latter case, the connection is made using the included 1/4" to MIDI adapter cable. With the included sample editor, sample settings such as tuning, reverb, and pad assignments can be easily prepared on a Mac or PC. Samples are automatically converted to .wav format through simple drag-and-drop. Additionally, the MPX8 comes with a free loop library for download and internal samples for live performances, studio productions, or DJ sets. Compact, easy to use, and also usable as a controller, the MPX8 is a perfect tool for performers. The sample player provides direct access to an unlimited number of sounds without cumbersome menu navigation.
