Adafruit Ultimate GPS

It's 10 o'clock, do you know where your Raspberry Pi is? With this GPS HAT, you would. This HAT is equipped with the well-known Ultimate GPS from Adafruit and provides you with the exact time as well as the location of your Pi Model A+ or B+. The backup battery keeps your Pi running for up to 7 years, even when it's turned off.

The GPS HAT includes not only the GPS module but also a holder for the backup battery (CR1220, not included) and all pins are routed to separate headers. Additionally, there is a large prototyping area for components like LEDs or sensors.

Please note that this HAT uses the Pi's hardware UART for communication, so the RX/TX pins can no longer be used for a console cable. Of course, Adafruit has put together a comprehensive tutorial that you can download from us. The HAT comes with the GPS pre-assembled; you only need to solder the GPIO header. For an additional fee, we can take care of this for you.
