The new PIPG filaments are made from post-industrial recycled plastic, with 99.5% being recycled material. The remaining 0.5% consists of additives to enhance 3D printing performance. Like other PETG filaments, the PIPG filament is strong, does not warp, and is odorless – making it a perfect all-rounder, ideal for strong and durable parts. The plastic is sorted and cleaned to remove unwanted residues before being shredded and melted down to further refine the polymer. The PETG raw material is available in a variety of colors and is therefore melted into a uniform mixture to create a gray-colored, homogeneous material. A high-quality masterbatch is then added to these neutral pellets to achieve the desired color. The material is extruded and wound onto 100% recyclable cardboard spools, which are now ready for use.
