I plan to install this card in an ATX case (midi).... Is the cooling capacity of the one fan sufficient? Or is it better to use such a card in an SLI system?
You should have no problem with the size of the housing.
This card has a so-called radial fan, which blows the air directly out of the back of the case. This means that your case will heat up less from the graphics card. However, I would generally refrain from SLI, as the gaming fun could be spoiled by various technical problems. But I only know this from reading about it, I've never tried it.
I haven't noticed any problems with SLI, only that you hardly noticeably gain any performance! I had two GTX550s in SLI mode some time ago and hardly noticed anything! I currently have a GTX 970 and if I needed an upgrade I would buy the 1070!
Anonymous is right, better a 1080 than 2 1070s.
