I switched from Swisscom to Galaxus Mobile a month ago and the reception is absolutely subterranean in comparison. I live in a large town with very good mobile coverage, but I often have no reception, especially indoors. Now I have no reception at all in Migros and Ottos, and in Coop I only have some reception at the very front of the checkout. This is very annoying when shopping, because you can't quickly ask at home if you need anything else, and shopping apps no longer work.
Reception is also very poor in many regions outside the conurbations. Recently, while hiking, we met an elderly woman who had fallen and probably broken her leg. I wanted to call the ambulance for her, which of course didn't work again because I had zero reception. I then had to call with my wife's phone (Salt). That's absolutely outrageous and something I've never heard of from Swisscom. But I never hear of such problems from other Sunrise customers either. Somehow Galaxus Mobile seems to be switching to a cheap Sunrise channel.
The plan is practically unusable for me, which is a pity. What annoys me is that Galaxus doesn't communicate more clearly what kind of network it really is.
As long as you don't get access to the 'real' Sunrise network, I can only advise everyone not to take out the Galaxus Mobile plan. However, the switch works without any problems and the website is very good and exemplary, but unfortunately it's no use without reception.
Pro
Contra
I can only agree!
I also agree... I'm really disappointed by the promises. Is there any way to take action against this? After all, you pay for a service that is not provided in full.
We also have the same experience. The children, who travel a lot, are constantly complaining about the slow or non-existent Internet and the poor reception. We will be switching again.
Not recommended at all, hands off!
Uselessly slow, my sons laugh at me, at the same location your plans from Salt and Swisscom are up to 25 times faster than this one from Galaxus Mobile via Sunrise! I won't put up with this for much longer!
I switched from M-Budget Mobile to Galaxus Mobile a few days ago. Informed myself well in advance about Sunrise's network coverage at my home and place of work etc..
I'm absolutely disappointed at how slow Galaxus Mobile is, even though 5G is widely advertised. M-Budget Mobile was much faster, although it only has 4G.
I'm thinking of switching back to M-Budget ... It's a shame that I'll have to pay a CHF 49 activation fee!
I have also been a customer of this plan for a few days. Unfortunately, as described by other users, the reception is terrible. Price and everything would be fine if Galaxus Mobile could use more of the Sunrise network.
Not recommended!
I have also recently become a Galaxus customer. I used to be with Aldi Suisse Mobile (which also uses the Sunrise network). Since the switch, the reception has definitely got worse, especially with the internet. I've now bought a 5G device because the customer advisor at Galaxus told me that 4G coverage in Basel is very poor and 5G is good. Even so, the internet (download and upload) is very low (on average, if I measure in several places in the house, about 50 mbps). That's not what you would expect with 5G in a very well-developed location. Something is not right.
Also switched from Swisscom to Galaxus Mobile. I have always had very good experiences with the Galaxus and Digitec brand. But the mobile plan is a disaster. Extremely poor and slow reception. Even with modern 5G Apple devices. I would no longer use the plan, even if it were free. It's a shame that they're doing so much damage to the brand. But they don't seem to care if you look at the comments here.
My opinion and warning to everyone. Hands off this plan.
Just cancelled the Galaxus snail service. Salt has made me an offer for the same price with no activation fee plus 1 month free.
Same here. I'll probably cancel the family's 3 plans again and switch.
The problem has been solved for me and other Family members by switching the phone off and on again. We had miserable values, but now G5 is at 350 mbps upload.
I've had it for a few days now and so far I've had good reception everywhere. I even had no problems on the train.
It seems to me that the internet speed of the subscription is limited. Previously I also had Sunrise (Yallo) and with my 5G mobile phone at home I had up to 150mbits download and something around 50 upload. At locations in Basel it was almost double that. Now it's a paltry 25/5 at home. Restarted the device several times (in case new configuration messages were the reason, which wasn't the case) and activated and deactivated flight mode several times, waited a day, same result. Galaxus-Digitec: what's going on?
Same here. Often offline on the road, where otherwise everything went smoothly with other suppliers. I hope it gets better, otherwise we'll have to switch again. Funnily enough, I have good reception (5G 3-4 bars) but still nothing loads or only loads super slowly.
Solution: Report here ( https://helpcenter.mobile.galaxus.ch/hc... ) and request a reset of the network configuration. Restart after 10 minutes, then everything is OK.
But: why not do it this way, Galaxus? Why does the user have to request this?
Galaxus doesn't seem to care. Why doesn't customer service respond to the comments? Poor service considering it's 2024.
I wrote an earlier comment in which I complained about the poor reception. After the reset as described above, it worked very well. I have 260 mbit, better than before with the fibre optic network.
Hello Galaxus Mobile. As there is no online contact option, I would like to know. What you have to say about the allegations of fraud regarding limited data volumes. I also have two Sunrise SIM cards and Galaxus is always bad, if not unusable in data throughput. I lack a plausible explanation for what I have subscribed to.
Speedtest shows 0.88mbps at my home, an absolute impertinence and I will immediately report it again
So I'm out, it can't go on like this. I have now cancelled my plan after 8 months. It feels like the reception is getting worse and worse:
-No reception in the office in the centre of Bern
-Very poor or no reception in almost all shops, so that paying with Twint becomes an embarrassing ordeal of waiting. Not to mention the fact that shopping list apps are no longer useful.
-Simply zero reception in more remote areas (Suldtal, Brenzikofen, etc.)
-Of course no reception in the mountains (I can live with that, I want to hike and not be glued to my mobile)
-Even if reception is displayed, there are always dropouts for unknown reasons
But all in all, this is unacceptable, especially in everyday life when you are dependent on reception (navigation, business calls, payments, etc.). Why Galaxus doesn't react here is a mystery to me. Especially as I have always had a good impression of the company, the disappointment is all the greater.
I warmly recommend Galaxus to switch to the Swisscom or Salt network, because they are only driving customers away.
Very poor reception
Partly unusable
100% will now switch after 3 months, Wingo was 10 times better.
Even GoMo has better reception, my family in the same household has better reception than I do with Galaxus.
SOLUTION: The problems with very slow or practically non-existent connection is probably related to Multi SIM. Every time I changed something there, the connection of the main SIM or additional SIMs was really lousy.
As already mentioned, contact Chat Support and ask for a network reset, then the connection problems should be history, until the next time you do something with eSIM profile or what :-)
Absolutely miserable reception even without multisim. In Thun and Basel. Have now switched to wingo. Although 4.00 more expensive but super reception.
After reading these reviews, I'll have to pick another supplier. Thanks to everyone who warned me.
Now, after 4 months, I'm adding my two cents.
I can only agree, but it has to be differentiated, I have great reception, just no data throughput.
Either in the centre of Zurich or somewhere near Sursee.
It says 4G, but my speed test shows <1.0mBit, the whole thing doesn't change to 5G either.
Contacting support did exactly nothing for me.
Of course "You get what you pay", the price is unbeatable, but if the product isn't worth anything, it's just no good.
I had Sunrise before and had no such problems anywhere, so the best I can imagine is that Sunrise throttles third-party providers.
I don't yet know how I'm going to proceed...
Unfortunately, I can only confirm this. Works ok in Zurich, except extremely miserable. I'm switching back again.
Yes...unfortunately I have to agree...have now switched to Coop mobile....
I absolutely cannot understand the comments. I have wonderful reception and I also had problems with Swisscom in a Migros, as they are built like cellars. However, I have to say that you pay CHF 19 and expect perfection, which nobody can offer you. I'd rather pay that measly CHF 19 and sometimes have poor reception than CHF 70 with Swisscom and the same problems!
The problem is not the reception, the problem is that with full reception, you have a very limited speed, which sometimes even results in high loading times for websites.
And then, in my opinion, what is sold or promised is not fulfilled. Regardless of whether it costs 19 or 70.
"Full speed in the 4G/5G network" is then effectively NOT fulfilled for me. If they advertise reduced speed, the world looks different.
The speed is perfectly fine for me, whether 4G or 5G. As I said, whether it's reception or speed, I've never had any problems and I absolutely don't understand the fuss.
I can only confirm poor reception and very frequent network dropouts (suddenly no more reception). I've been travelling by train for 10 years and have never had so many dropouts. This is the second time I've had to restart my mobile because the service simply stopped connecting. Really unacceptable. Previously 5 years with M-budget Mobile (Swisscom network) and never had such problems. We don't even have to talk about the speed... 5G but there's an elephant in the room somewhere.
I have the feeling that my reception has been getting worse and worse recently. I can't even make a connection for a call despite 5G.
I can only confirm this. I've even done speed tests. Once with Galaxus and once with Sunrise. Same phone, same location. Result; oh wonder, the Sunrise Sim was much faster. Not just twice as fast, but 15-20 times as fast!
Unfortunately, the speed is absolutely subterranean. In the meantime, I can't make a decent phone call either at home or at work, which is why I've definitely decided to switch providers and my family will be joining me.
