    Cool hardware - useless software - everything a maker needs ;-)

    The hardware is very solid and should be able to plot accurate drawings soon. But less than I had originally hoped, the available Makeblock software is usable. The "official" plotter firmware on GitHub was apparently written for an earlier version of the hardware (a Leonardo board) and does not work for the current version (a UNO board) without modifications. No changes have been uploaded there for at least two years either. And without my fortunately already existing AVR ISP mkII I would have programmed the board unusable several times. At the moment I am trying a new implementation.
    Nevertheless I don't regret the purchase, because the hardware is really very valuable and solid and the software can easily be replaced by myself. The needed information can be gathered

    • included adapter for type-A to CH-plug is unusable
    • supplied combination screwdriver (hexagon socket/cross) slips out of the holder
